Giving

The South Redford community has always been supportive of education and schools. In recent years, voters approved a $22-million renovation of our high school, performing arts, and athletic facilities, and last year, voters approved a Capital Improvement Sinking Fund. The residents of South Redford have demonstrated time and time again that they want our students to have the best there is to offer in terms of the latest technology and modern facilities.

But we can always use more. We are still working with funding levels from the state that have not changed in several years—even though the cost of everything has increased in that time. We are working to compete with other districts in this county, some of which receive 30, 40, even 60% more in funding per pupil than we do.

And we are THRIVING. Our High School is consistently ranked by Newsweek as one of the top high schools in the nation. We remain committed to offering academically rigorous programs and AP classes to benefit our students in the Eagle Scholars Program. We are continuously looking for ways to provide for our students needs, which has led to the launching of new programs such as SOAR in 2014.

HOW CAN I HELP?

The South Redford Foundation is a non-profit §501(c)(3)organization that raises and allocates funds for educational projects that are above and beyond those included in the South Redford School District's budget. The Foundation fundraises to contribute to the educational advancement of South Redford students by providing grants for teachers and scholarships for graduating seniors.
